The Saline County Historical Society is dedicated to preserving, inter- preting, and sharing the rich and diverse history of Saline County, MO. From pioneer settlements and Civil War legacies to African American heritage and aviation milestones, our stories shape the future.
Our Mission

Our purpose is to collect, preserve, and disseminate historical information and data of every kind, type, and description touching the early history of Saline County and the State of Missouri.... to collect and preserve articles, specimens, and material things illustrative or demonstrative of the customs, modes, and habits of the history of Saline County, to maintain a museum for display of historical articles, to maintain a library for historical research, and other educational purposes...., and to honor the sturdy pioneers of Saline County, Missouri who braved hardships to lay the foundation of our institutions; to perpetuate the memory of those, who by their labor and heroism, contributed to make history in Saline County.
